Welcome

We’re glad you are checking us out. We hope that you will join us at Sunday

What to Expect

Attending a new church can be intimidating. Learn a little more about what to expect at Menomonie United Methodist Church.

All are welcome

Just passing through? Never attended church before? New to town? Looking for a different faith community? Wanting to learn more about God? Whether you’re a baby Christian, mature Christian or aren’t sure if you’re a Christian at all, we welcome everyone to attend any and all church activities.

Sunday service

Worship is intended to help you deepen your faith and connection with God. Service begins at 9 a.m. and lasts about 60 minutes. Upon entering the church, greeters will welcome you and you are invited to visit with others and read announcements on the screen as you settle in. Service includes responsive reading, a time for community sharing of joys and concerns, prayer, Bible readings, a Biblical message, offering and announcements. Each week you will enjoy music in a variety forms, including piano and organ music, traditional hymns and praise songs, and special music such as choir or bell choir.

Fellowship hour

All are welcome to stay after Worship Service or come early before Sunday Study to enjoy fellowship time, which includes free snacks, coffee and juice. People use this time to informally talk with old friends and make new connections.

Dress code

Attire varies widely, but there is certainly no specific dress code. Attire ranges from dresses and suit jackets to jeans, leggings and hoodies.

Kids

Kids of all ages are welcome to attend Worship Service. Pastor Wendy doesn’t mind competing with a crying baby from time to time. Activity bags are available in the entry to help entertain little ones. A free nursery service is available during Worship Service for little ones who are not ready to sit through church. Sunday Study begins at 10:00 a.m. for children four and older.

Communion

This tradition is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month. All are welcome to participate, including nonmembers and children. Our church serves bread and grape juice; a gluten-free option is available. Learn more about Menomonie United Methodist Church’s traditions.
